Our Zingiest Lemon-Themed Party

Our Zingiest Lemon-Themed Party

We are so excited to finally share our citrus-centric soirée with you! This lemon-focused theme works for a number of occasions—everything from a ladies' brunch to a bridal shower to cocktails or dinner. It can skew Amalfi Coast or DIY. Plus, it's fun, versatile and can be done on any budget. Basically, you should have more lemons in your life! (Check out our roundup of fun lemon products!)

We were inspired by this yellow-and-blue lemon linen (hello, happy!) and everything evolved from there. At the risk of being overly lemon-y, we opted for a graphic blue tablecloth from La Tavola and used the lemon print for the napkins and the dessert table. Instead we chose to go for high impact and whipped up a couple lemon topiaries for the table.

Blue glasses accented the napkins and these cute dot-rimmed plates made the table feel casual. Gold flatware and a scattering of bud vases filled with yellow flowers and a few lemons made the table complete. (Don't miss an opportunity to include sliced lemons in your floral arrangements, either. Check out the floral arrangement on the dessert table further down.)

For the menu, you can really do anything... we thought the more lemon, the better! We put together this color-coded crudité (you can make it match any theme!) with a lemon 'aoili' and these delish crab crostini with homemade pita chips. For the main course, you could do anything that fits the time of your celebration—brunch (try these lemon ricotta pancakes), cocktails (don't miss some lemon-thyme bruschetta), dinner (love this lemon Tuscan chicken from Ina Garten) or a bridal shower (grilled potato salad with lemon-mustard-tarragon dressing).

Dessert was obviously a highlight... and, of course, lemon was the star! We topped off each place setting with beautiful lemon wedge sugar cookies made by Lauren Lowstan from A Sweet Savory. For a dramatic touch, serve scoops of lemon ice cream topped with limoncello you pour at the table. Way to wow your guests! Also try individual deconstructed lemon meringue pies, lemon poppyseed bundt cake and this lemon blueberry buckle cut into individual rounds. We hope this inspires you, and, remember, whatever you decide to do with your citrus-y celebration, it's sure to be a zinger!
